NEW DELHI: Auto component maker ANAND Group announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with South Korean company Mando Corporation to meet the growing segment of electric vehicles in the country.

The two companies have decided to leverage their existing synergies, capabilities and experience to establish their second joint venture in the country – ANAND Mando eMobility Pvt Ltd, to manufacture and market electric vehicle (EV) components for two and three wheels.

According to the pact, the ANAND group and Mando would respectively hold 60 and 40 percent of the capital of the entity JV.

The two companies first collaborated in 1997 to create Mando Automotive India Pvt Ltd (MAIPL) which manufactures brake systems.

The association was further strengthened in 2012, when the capital-based ANAND group acquired a stake in Mando Steering Systems India Ltd.

“The collaboration with Mando Corporation is in line with the key ethic of the ANAND group’s vision, to create sustainable value through the pursuit of excellence.

“I am confident that this long-term association will continue to evolve by leveraging synergies and mutual strengths to successfully create efficient products and systems for the Indian electric vehicle industry,” said Anjali Singh, Executive Chairman of the ANAND group.

The joint venture plans to come up with a manufacturing plant in Rajasthan that would employ around 350 to 450 people.

A capital investment of over Rs 50 crore is planned to be deployed in the facility over a period of three years.

The joint venture aims to develop electric motor parts for two major two-wheeler original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) by October this year.

Other parts are said to start rolling out of the factory in mid-2022.

“The electric vehicle components market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of approximately 22% through 2030.

ANAND Mando eMobility clearly has the engineering capacity and technological know-how to meet the growing demand for motor and controller components in India, ”said Mando Automotive India Co-Chairman Jaisal Singh.

With the type of investments made to establish a production facility, the joint venture expects to achieve a turnover of Rs 500 crore by 2025, he added.

Additive manufacturing electronics specialist Nano Dimension has formed a partnership with defense and security electronics supplier HENSOLDT AG. The recently formed joint venture is called JAMES GmbH (Jetted Additively Manufactures Electronics Sources, or JAMES).

Nano Dimension is a manufacturer of intelligent machines that 3D print additive manufacturing electronics. HENSOLDT has been using Nano Dimension’s DragonFly PRO and LDM 3D-AME printer technology since 2018, to manufacture many ‘first of’ models, such as 3D Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) / AME 3D Hi-PED (High- Performance-Electronic- Devices). HENSOLDT and Nano Dimension have worked together to extend the capabilities of 3D Hi-PED AMEs. By formalizing their cooperation and co-investing around $ 6 million in the new joint venture entity, JAMES, HENSOLDT reinforces its commitment to develop the most advanced technology in 3D printing. The joint venture is led by HENSOLDT Ventures, an independent unit within HENSOLDT, which implements and markets new technologies and new business models for the HENSOLDT Group. JAMES, based in Taufkirchen, Germany, will combine the strengths of the two companies and advance the development of 3D printed electronic components. The main goal of JAMES is the development of a community of electronics designers who will exchange designs and methodologies for manufacturing, integrating components and materials for printed electronics (PE) and additive manufacturing electronics.
